My pick for the greatest canadian is Terry Fox .Terry Fox was an amazing canadian he ran more than half across canada with only one limb ,the reason he only had one limb is because he had cancer and an infection went into his leg and it turned very bad , the doctors could not save his limb and were forced to amputate it. The reason i picked terry is because he proved that you can run with only one leg while you have cancer terry was an incredible person to me and he touched millions of people. Terry ran more than 40km per day,Terry raised more than 500 million dollars for cancer research that is spectacular!.

Terry tried to run a marathon but had to stop in the middle of it because he started to get sick , he started getting sicker and sicker that he could not run and he decided he had to go to the hospital, when the doctors took tests and got the results they revealed to him that he once more had cancer.
terry wanted to help find a cure for cancer because he didn't want other kid's and people to go through what he went through, terry met a boy who had cancer and had only one leg too, terry rode bikes with that boy every day for a few hours. they made eachother happy. when terry first tried to run he kept falling and his friend had to help him get up,a womenwho was watching her children play soccer got upset and went over to terry's friend and said get that freak out of here ,so terry started to go out at night to run. terry had to keep practiceing, he eventualy got better at running. and he got confident on going outside to run in the day and didn't let people get to him, he just ignored them.
terry had his friend in a van following him fo he would have someone with him and make sure he wouldn't get hit by a car
some people honked at him and yelled at him to get off the road. some even tried to drive him off the road whitch was a very mean thing to do .
